Ben Magana
Ben launched his career in Mexico before joining Framestore in 2012, and his resume boasts an array of award-winning film projects.
Graduating from the prestigious Electronic Systems Engineering at Instituto Technologico y Estudios Superiores Monterrey, Ben cut his teeth at Ollin Studio VFX in Mexico City, working as a 3D artist on several blockbuster film projects including Tron Legacy and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. He shaped his career within lighting at MPC, where his credits as a Lighting TD include Dark Shadows and Prometheus. Having joined Framestore in 2012, Ben worked on key projects for the company, including Alfonso Cuaron’s Oscar-winning film Gravity, Dracula Untold and Pan, which saw him promoted to the role of CG Supervisor.
Ben’s path through the company has given him extensive knowledge of the whole CG process, and his passion for new technologies informs the innovative and ground-breaking work produced by his team. Recent releases supervised by Ben include an eclectic mix of genres including Darkest Hour, Downsizing, Deadpool 2 and Captain Marvel.
His most recent projects include Army of the Dead, The Tomorrow War, and The School for Good and Evil. Ben is currently lending his talent to John Krasinski’s IF.
