Christian Manz
Christian is a VFX Supervisor with over 20 years experience in the industry, accumulating four BAFTA and an Academy Award nomination for his work in feature film. In 2013 Christian completed work on Carl Rinsch’s 47 Ronin as the VFX Supervisor for Universal Pictures. He immediately reprised the role on another Universal project, Gary Shore’s Dracula Untold, His work for the studio followed on from his great success as a Framestore VFX Supervisor, which included Bafta and Oscar nominations for bringing new life to Kreacher and Dobby in David Yates’ Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in 2010.
He joined Framestore in 1997 after training as an illustrator, working as a compositor on Dinotopia and Space Odyssey. He was the VFX Supervisor for a number of television projects including Spooks and ITV’s Primeval. With Mike Newell’s Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Chris Weitz‘s The Golden Compass, he led the compositing teams with great success.
With such rich experience in the world of JK. Rowling, Christian was brought on by David Heyman from early pre-production for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, as overall VFX supervisor alongside Tim Burke. This partnership continued with the sequel, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, with both films earning him a BAFTA nomination in Special Visual Effects. Christian recently oversaw the third installment, as the sole Overall VFX Supervisor of the project.
