Blade Runner 2049: Art Department
Framestore's Art Department started work on the highly-anticipated Blade Runner 2049 early in the preproduction stage. Creating concept artwork for filmmakers Denis Villeneuve and Roger Deakins, many of the final looks continued to act as reference for the VFX artists working to craft the final film.
Las Vegas
"With both Denis and Roger, we often discussed how far we should see into the distance in the Vegas shots. There was a very fine line between creating depth in the shots and only allowing the audience to get a hint of what was out there" Richard Hoover, VFX Supervisor.
Trash Mesa
"Photographs and aerial footage of Bangladesh were used as reference to concept a trash-strewn beach with shipwrecked tanker ships" Adrien Saint Girons, CG Supervisor.
