Creating timeslipping for Loki Season 2

Loki season 2 VFX Supervisor, Christopher Townsend recently spoke to Variety and Screen Rant about the intricate visual effects that brought the Asgardian god of mischiefs "time slipping" to life.

Chris detailed the process of capturing Tom Hiddleston's multiple performances and editing them to convey the disorientation of time manipulation. Framestore then transformed these sequences into a fully CG version of Hiddleston, meticulously crafting his movements and expressions to create a 'stringy, goopy' visual representation of the disruption of time.

Artists further enhanced the effect by hand-painting individual frames, highlighting Loki's pain and struggle. The result is a visceral yet believable effect that immerses the audience in Loki's emotional journey.
