Hand in hand with fellow innovator BYD, Framestore was given the opportunity to build the world that the future hopes for. The manufacturer of solar powered street lamps, trains, buses, and cars develops technology to create an eco-system of quality new energy products. In this clean energy campaign, Leonardo DiCaprio leads us through the city that he could only dream of if change happens now.

Letters to Leo

Framestore created an optimistic portrayal of what Beijing would look like in an ideally clean future. Led by James Healy and Euna Kho, a team of experienced artists built full CG cityscapes, for day, night, dusk, and dawn, that lack pollution and over-crowding. Leo walks through his dreamworld where a breath of fresh air and expansion of greenery emphasize the beauty of a world changed by new energy.

Making History

Working together to create a cleaner world, Framestore built 2D greenscreen composites, environmental composites, and sky replacements. A full CG curtain reveals the vehicle that takes Leo through his dreams of the future.
