Tony the Tiger
Our work for Kellogg’s sees the iconic Tony the Tiger reworked for the modern world, appearing for the first time in 3D. For Framestore, this presented a real challenge, in the need to take a very well established and much-loved 2D character and translate his many years of history to a more modern environment. The result? Nothing short of ‘grrreat!’
Pregame Ritual
The goals for Tony's first time in a three-dimensional world were to create a more real-feeling tiger, whose presence amongst the children is more genuine and interactive than ever before. It was Framestore’s task to dimensionalise Tony so that he could exist in a 3D space, whilst maintaining the 2D silhouette that he has traditionally formed. A key consideration from the very onset of the project was the creation of his fur. The CG team, led by Jamie O'Hara, embarked upon balancing Tony's animated shapes with carefully sculpted lighting, in order to retain the look and feel of the original cartoon whilst having him be completely present in the new world.
Skate Park
In Framestore's next collaboration with Frosted Flakes, Tony continues to empower tweens and inspire their inner greatness to shine. In this spot, he is able to participate in a range of diverse activities now that he shares the three-dimensional world.
Game On
In this most recent spot, Tony jumps right into the family action and continues to create an infectious can-do attitude for their new flavor of Cinnamon Frosted Flakes.
