The Old Man Season 2

Dan Chase is back with a vengeance in FX's The Old Man season 2. Premiering September 12th, the upcoming season features VFX by our NY artists, led by VFX Supervisor Thomas Montminy-Brodeur.

Visual Effects Supervisor
Two men lay on the ground, both bloodied and injured

The team went all out to ensure the visual effects were grounded in realism; for a shot where
blood was supposed to be flowing on an uneven ground surface, the team filmed and shot a
blood element with a spot light, recreating that same uneven ground, so that it would perfectly
match the plate.

On the collaboration process, VFX Supervisor Thomas Montminy-Brodeur comments: “The
client VFX Supervisor, Erik Henry, and I have been creatively collaborating for the past decade.
So we understand very well the style that we want to bring a shot and we are on the same
wavelength about what a shot should look like, which makes the creative process efficient and
enjoyable.”
