Production VFX Supervisor David Simpson spoke to VFX Voice this week about Framestore London's work in Alex Garland’s dystopian thriller, Civil War. David explores the VFX challenges of creating a replica of Washington D.C. and Framestore's various easter eggs you might spot throughout the film.

Our studios in London and Mumbai delivered work that’s epic but understated: a staggering feat of worldbuilding for a film that critics are hailing as ‘horrifying’, ‘gut-twisting’ and ‘jaw-droppingly beautiful.’ Framestore’s David Simpson served as Production VFX Supervisor, working closely with Garland and core creatives like DOP Rob Hardy and Production Designer Caty Maxey to achieve the film’s gritty, documentary-style aesthetic.
