Abby Orchard
As Framestore’s Head of Studio, IA London Abby navigates various lines of business including Advertising, Episodic and Design, while closely collaborating with the Immersive team.
Abby's career began as Framestore’s receptionist in 1999. Over the years, she transitioned through Production, significantly shaping her career path. Wanting to focus on complex CG shows, in 2006 Abby produced 'Fanimals' for Noam Murro, utilising Houdini to create fur for multiple creatures in one of the first times it had been used in the studio in such a way. Over the next few years her journey continued as she produced some of the first campaigns through Framestore Pictures with in-house Directors, for brands like Andrex and Next; becoming a Senior VFX Producer in the expanding team.
After a break from the Industry Abby returned in 2017 as Talent manager, taking on the role of Head of Production within the year, as the team continued to grow across Episodic, Immersive experiences and Attractions, as well as continuing to build on the Advertising and Design output.
Over the last few years Abby’s career highlights have included the beautifully crafted storybook sequence for Netflix’s ‘Jingle Jangle’, the last 3 Seasons of The Crown, a complex, fluid sim based creature for Apple’s ‘Invasion 2’, Universal Studios Jurassic World Adventure and Velociocster, the James Bond Bond ‘No Time to Die’ Titles and multiple award-winning advertising spots.
Alongside her creative contributions Abby was key in setting up Framestore’s New York office in 2004 which is continuing to go from strength to strength.
Her diverse experiences and dedication have made her a pivotal figure in the industry, driving innovation and excellence in every project she undertakes.
